| Mr. Frans' vision grew out to something even better |
More dynamic than ever Luc Van Honsebrouck
(79) received us in his home in Ingelmunster.
Statues in the huge garden and a connoisseur
of
art but also the real prototype of the
hardworking
and enterprising "self made"
Flemish brewer.
And about The Three Corners he is very clear:
"Mr.
Frans Lambrecht and I are from the same
generation
of man who created with an
appropriate
dose of West Flemish stubbornness
and healthy
peasant wisdom a thriving
enterprise". |

Van Honsebrouck is one of the few remaining
independent breweries in Belgium and the seventh
largest brewer in Belgium. The brewery is known
for the sweeter beers it produces and owes its success
mainly to the Castle Beer and Brigand. Annual fl ows are approximately 100,000 hectoliters of beer from the boilers
of a large part intended for export.
"But I never drink beer at home", he says. Acting in that spirit he offered us a beer and opted for a glass of water.
Colorful
That you never forget. Luc Van Honsebrouck is also Belgium's most colorful brewer, thus Michael Jackson (+ 2007)
who end of the eighties was widely known through his television series The Beer Hunter at Discovery Channel. And
he should know: Van Honsebrouck did test him once during a visit seven volumes of his heavy Kasteelbier. Meanwhile,
the leadership of the brewery passed to one of his sons Xavier Van Honsebrouck, this in the line of the family tradition.
"I have two sons: Vincent and Xavier. Vincent has a business in Knokke; Xavier took the helm in the brewery."
On the spot
Family tradition was what Mr. Luc lined up with The Three Corners.
"I met Mr. Frans through our sons", he relates. "Totally in the beginning of The Three Corners Pascal asked my son Xavier
if I wouldn't be interested in investing in the hotel they were building in El Gouna. So I met mr. Frans and immediately I
had a contact and a bond with him."
"I visited him in Egypt, listened to his proposal and I subscribed on the spot."
Since then Luc Van Honsebrouk - also together with other investors - participated in practically every project of The
Three Corners, from Hurghada over El Gouna to Sharm El Sheikh.
Even better
He tells it frankly: "In the beginning, as in all businesses there was a certain risk. But Mr. Frans was a man with a vision:
he forecasted me the future of The Three Corners and it is exactly what the company became. At the end his vision
grew out to something that is even better."
"Unfortunately Mr. Frans passed away lot too early but I am very glad that the three sons, Didier, Christophe and Pascal
are doing an excellent job. With respect to their mother Cecile who is supporting them intensely."
"And as long as I can, I still will help them if they need me. And now that I have more time I will visit them regularly", he
replies finely.
Mr. Luc now enjoys this life realizations.

"I immediately had a bond with Mr. Frans. What he realized grew out to something even better" |
